Moving Premises?

Moving out

On the day of your move please call our Customer Helpline at 08457 455 455 and provide your:

  • Account Number and Meter Point Registration Number (MPRN) from your electricity bill
  • Final meter reading(s)
  • Meter serial number (from the front of your meter).
  • Full address including postcode
  • Your new/forwarding address
  • Contact telephone number (or e-mail address)

It is important to take the Meter Reading(s) to allow us to prepare your final bill, otherwise you may end up paying for electricity used by the new occupant.

Moving in

Premises with a new supply

Before the supply can be connected, first you must register with us. To do this you require the Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN) from NIE Infrastructure (this is included in your quotation for the new supply.

If you do not know your MPRN please call NIE Infrastructure at 08457 643 643 or e-mail customercontact@nie.co.uk.

Once you have the MPRN you can register by calling our Customer Helpline at 08457 455 455.

If you have moved in to new premises you may not appreciate just how ‘energy hungry’ your equipment is. Read your meter first thing in the morning and again at closing time for one week to give you an idea how much you are using (you may be surprised at what’s left on after hours). If you want to get a greater understanding of your consumption we can fit a half-hour meter for you for a small one-off fee (please ask for details).

Premises with an existing supply

On the day of your move please call our Customer Helpline at 08457 455 455 and provide your:

  • Existing Power NI Account Number (if you have one)
  • Full address of the new premises (if possible including postcode)
  • Meter Serial number (from the front of the meter in the new premises)
  • Opening Meter reading(s)
