Our top tips for saving energy on your farm
Dairy farm
- Our Farm Nightsaver is the best tariff for farmers. Heat all water on cheap ‘night rate’ if possible
- Check time switches are matched to the cheap ‘night saver’ billing option
- Clean condenser coils to ensure heat can dissipate easily
- Lag all water pipes & tanks
- Fit a heat exchanger to pre-cool the milk – this can reduce cooling costs by up to 50%
- Switch off all lights, including fluorescents when not required
Pig farm
- Clean fans & air ducts – dirt can reduce fan efficiency by 60%
- Draught proof doors & windows to stop heat escaping
