How will my meter be installed?
The electrician will remove your standard meter and replace this with a Keypad meter. There is no charge for this work. Your final meter reading will be taken at this stage. We will use this meter reading to calculate your final bill amount. After this you will pay by top-up.
When will I get my final bill amount?
Your final meter reading will be used to calculate your final bill amount. We will send you a letter informing you of this amount within 4-5 days of your Keypad installation.
What happens if I pay by Direct Debit?
Your Direct Debit will be cancelled once your Keypad installation appointment is made or alternatively within one week of your installation if your Direct Debit is due to be lifted within this time.
Paying my final amount
We will send you a letter to tell you how much is owed. You can pay this amount at any post office, paypoint or payzone outlet, by debit card over the phone, by cheque or online using FastPay.
What happens if my account is in credit?
If your final credit balance is over £50 you will receive a cheque for this amount or if you previously paid by Direct Debit this amount can be credited to your account.
If your final credit balance is under £50 you will receive a Keypad top-up for this amount by post.
What happens if my account is in debit?
If your final bill is in debit you can pay this in full by cheque or debit card. You also have the option of paying off your final bill through your Keypad. The amount you owe is added on to your Keypad as debt. 40% of future Keypad top-ups will go towards paying this outstanding amount until the account balance is clear.
We have now made Keypad even easier by extending all 'friendly credit' until 11am.
