Moving out

Moving house is stressful enough without the added headache of an electricity ‘double’ bill. So it’s important to close your account properly otherwise you may end up receiving bills for electricity used by the new occupants.

To close your account in time, call our Customer Helpline on 08457 455 455 a few days before you move.

Our phone lines are open Monday – Friday 8am – 7pm. Please note that we are not open on Public or Bank holidays and we record all calls for quality assurance purposes.

When you call us, we will ask for the following information to identify you and to keep your account details confidential:

  • Date of birth
  • Mother’s maiden name
  • Telephone number

To allow us to close your account please provide your:

  • Account number (top right hand corner of your electricity bill)
  • Full address including postcode
  • New or forwarding address
  • Meter serial number (from the front of your meter)
  • Final meter reading(s)
