Becoming a Customer

Switch back to Power NI in 5 simple steps

Your switching application will be processed. We will contact your old supplier with a meter reading and they will calculate your final bill.

If paying by direct debit you will receive a letter confirming that your bank has been contacted and your new direct debit has been set up.

You will receive your final bill from your old supplier. If you owe any money you should pay this as normal.

You receive your first bill from us for the amount of electricity you have used since you switched.

 

I’m a Keypad customer, can I still switch to Power NI?

Yes, you can. If you wish to continue using your Keypad with Power NI click here to complete our online switching form or contact us on 08457 455 455 (opening hours 8am-7pm Mon-Fri). Our Customer Service Advisor will agree an appointment with you and pass this information to NIE who will ring you to complete the switch. Please ensure that you have access to your meter when they call and that you have a minimum of £2 credit on your meter

What if I am paying an outstanding balance through my Keypad?

If you are paying a balance through your Keypad, this must be cleared before you switch supplier. Or you must agree an alternate arrangement with us. Please note your current supplier will notify us of any outstanding balance.

Important things to know

  • Timings may vary, but everything should happen within 4-8 weeks.
  • Don’t worry if you don’t hear from us; this means your switch is going as planned. We’ll only call you if something is going wrong.
  • You’re supply won’t ever be disrupted, even if the switching process takes longer than expected.
