Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels are designed to convert the sun’s energy into electricity to power your businesses lighting and equipment.
All solar PV cells have two layers of semi- conductor material, one postively charged and one negatively charged. When light shines on the semi-conductor, the electric field across the junction between these two layers causes electricity to flow, generating the DC (direct current). The greater the intensity of light, the greater the flow of electricity.
A solar PV system doesn't need bright sunlight in order to operate and can generate electricity even on cloudy days. Due to the reflection of sunlight, days with slight cloud can result in higher energy yields than days with a completely cloudless sky.

You’ll be generating your own electricity so by using this you’ll notice a reduction in your bill. Try to use as much of the electricity as you’re generating it to maximise your savings.
You’ll get paid for any electricity that you generate but don’t use and export back to the grid.
The current single rate export tariff is 4.01p/kWh
