Price Change

Why are prices increasing?

Prices are going up because the cost of fuels used in electricity generation have increased, which means higher wholesale electricity costs and in turn, this increase to our standard rate (of electricity).  Gas, the main fuel used to generate electricity, has increased by 30% in the last year. Despite this increase, Power NI prices are still lower than they were 5 years ago.

This rate change is agreed with the Utility Regulator who is responsible for ensuring that the bills consumers pay reflects the efficient costs of providing the service, so our customers can be confident the price that they pay is fair.
