How do I submit an export reading?

You need to submit your meter reading via your Microgen Online account by clicking here You will need your email address and password to log into your Microgen online account.

What does the T and R reading stand for?

If your import/export meter is scrolling between a T and an R reading, T stands for Total Units Imported and R stands for Returned units - the units exported back to the grid.

Which meter do I read for export?

You should have two meters: one which was installed by NIE (the import export meter) and another (generation or ROC meter) which was fitted when your renewable generator was installed. Why aren't my bills lower if I have solar panels?

When can I expect to receive my export payment?

Export payments are processed towards the end of October/early November and statements confirming the export payments will be available via your Microgen Online account once payment is processed. You will be notified via email when your statement is ready to view.

My import/export meter hasn't been installed. Who do I contact?

Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) is responsible for installing import/export meters and if you would like further information on this please call their helpline on 03457 643 643.

When do ROC and export prices change?

The tariff year runs from 1October to 30 September each year, with ROC and export prices changin on an annual basis. Prices are approved by the Utility Regulator and are subject to fluctuation each year due to market factors.
