Power NI, Northern Ireland’s leading energy supplier, recently sponsored two holes at the Captain’s Open Golf Charity Day at the Balmoral Golf Club in South Belfast. The event, which took place on the 1st September, was raising funds for the Mid Down Multiple Sclerosis Support Group. The donation is a result of Power NI’s staff sponsorship scheme, ‘Helping Hands’, which encourages employees to nominate an organisation of their choice.

Power NI employee, Eileen Monaghan who nominated the charity said: "My brother has MS so I know how helpful this contribution from Power NI will be to the group. The donation will help enrich the lives of those who suffer from this debilitating illness."

Denis Power and Liz Cunningham are the Captain and Ladies Captain of the Balmoral Golf Club and the organisers of the event.  They added; "We are very grateful for all the support we have received from Power NI, the donation has helped fund an important event."

Mid Down MS Support Group, based in Ballynahinch, aims to help those affected by MS as well as carers and other family members.
