Togetherness underpins everything that we do at Power NI, and we have a commitment to supporting communities across Northern Ireland - all year round. We’ve detailed a list of organisations that Power NI is proud to support, that go above and beyond to help vulnerable people across Northern Ireland.

Age NI

Check In & Chat

Our charity partner - Age NI - has expanded its dedicated advice line for older people to include a new “Check in and Chat” telephone service for people over the age of 60. The service aims to provide practical, social and emotional support through regular calls to older people to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness. To access the service, call 0808 808  7575. Lines are open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

National Energy Action (NEA)

Belfast Warm and Well

We support the national fuel poverty charity - NEA - in helping vulnerable people who are finding it difficult to keep their home warm. The project provides helpful independent and confidential advice and practical support to stay warm and well. If you’re concerned that someone you know is vulnerable, ask them if they would like to speak with NEA and if they do, call 028 9023 9909 or email [email protected]

Advice NI 

Community Helpline

Advice NI offer a Freephone helpline to assist those in vulnerable groups to access information, advice and guidance relating to coronavirus. As one of our charity partners, the service offers practical support and advice on benefits, employment, food, heating, medicine and managing money or debt. it is It is open between 9am-5pm, 7 days a week. Call 0808 802 0020 or email [email protected].

Debt Action

Advice NI provide a Northern Ireland-wide free, confidential debt advice service – Debt Action. It provides help and support for those who are struggling to deal with debt. They can advise on a wide range of debt-related issues including credit cards, loans, mortgages and rent debt and advise on debt solutions including debt management plans, bankruptcy, individual voluntary arrangements and debt relief orders.  It is open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, call 0800 028 1881 or email [email protected]

Business Debt Service

Advice NI’s Business Debt Service, is a free, confidential telephone advice service offering tailored, independent and impartial advice for sole traders, partnerships and Limited Companies aimed at resolving any immediate business debt problems. Business owners may need advice ensuring they are fully aware of their rights and responsibilities with regard to their trade, tax and personal liabilities. Benefits and Advice Services 

Our friends and charity partners – Macmillan - provide an integrated service to ensure that everyone affected by cancer can access the financial help they need. Advisors can carry out a benefits check based on individual circumstances and assist with any applications for benefits, grants etc. Their helpline is open Monday - Friday 9am - 12:30pm and 1pm to 4pm. Action Mental Health

Mental Health Advice & Support

Our charity partner, Action Mental Health, have lots of helpful advice on services and signposting information on their website https://amh.org.uk/ as well as a dedicated section for people seeking well-being information at this current time https://www.amh.org.uk/coronavirus/.

Anyone who is experiencing distress or despair during these uncertain times can contact ‘Lifeline’ which is a crisis response helpline. Their lines are open 24/7 on 0808 808 8000. Deaf and hard of hearing Textphone users can call Lifeline on 18001 0808 808 8000.
