Celebrating Success, ABC Business Awards Now Open!

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has launched its biennial ABC Business Awards to officially recognise, reward and profile its most industrious, hardworking and enterprising organisations.

Held in association with Northern Ireland's leading energy company and associate sponsor, Power NI, the Business Awards will support and showcase the best of local and regional business firmly located in the borough.

Now in its second year, the prestigious awards attract entries from across all sectors and sizes of the borough’s diverse, enterprising and successful business base. Recognising the outstanding achievements of the local business community’s top performers, the awards night also represents the perfect opportunity for businesses to showcase their continued growth and development.

The gala awards night will take place on Wednesday 12 June at Craigavon Civic & Conference Centre.

Launching this year’s ABC Business Awards, Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon, Councillor Julie Flaherty commented,

"The 2019 ABC Business Awards is our opportunity to celebrate the borough’s outstanding business community, to applaud the work they do and to showcase the passion of those individuals who go above and beyond to drive continued business growth. The ceremony will celebrate our talented and ambitious business community and will provide an unrivalled opportunity to network, engage and to inspire others with their knowledge and ideas. I would like to encourage every business, organisation and individual that share in the borough’s business success to showcase their outstanding achievements."

The ABC Business Awards will include the prestigious Sir Allen McClay Young Business Person of the Year accolade as well as recognition awards for Best Hospitality Business, Innovation, Social Enterprise Business, Business Growth; and Excellence in Manufacturing and Customer Service.

The recognition night will also include the Best Family Business Award, sponsored by GMcG Portadown and the Best Exporting Business accolade sponsored by Ulster Carpets, in addition to an award for Outstanding Woman in Business. Returning award for Best New Business, sponsored by Armagh Business Centre, Banbridge District Enterprise and CIDO, will seek to find the best new startup who can demonstrate how they’ve addressed the market need and overcame challenges to ensure their growth.

This year’s ceremony will also see the introduction of the SRC sponsored Best Apprentice Employer Award, which will recognise an employer who can demonstrate an ongoing commitment and contribution to achieving a successful and innovative apprenticeship scheme.
