How it works

At Power NI we purchase exported electricity and ROCs (Renewable Obligation Certificates).

Receive up to two payments for your renewable generator by submitting your meter readings to the Power NI Renewable team when requested and we take care of the rest!

Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs)
The Renewable Obligation scheme is now closed to new generating capacity from the 31 March 2017.  If your generator was accredited by Ofgem before this date, you can claim ROCs for 20 years from date of accreditation.

Export
Generated electricity which is not used within the property is exported back to the grid.  At Power NI we purchase exported electricity, which is claimed by submitting a reading taken from the Northern Ireland Electricity Networks meter on an annual basis.
