How do I switch to Power NI from another supplier?

If you own a commercial business premises or farm, you can switch to Power NI by completing this form and a member of our team will be in contact.

Here’s what you’ll need to complete the switch:

  • Your MPRN (Meter Point Reference Number). This will be on any previous electricity bill for the premises. If in doubt, call NIE Networks at 03457 643 643 (Mon-Fri, 8.30am-5pm)
  • A photo of your electricity meter where the reading is clearly shown as well as the meter serial number
  • Three previous copy bills
  • Your details (and any other persons of responsibility) and the business or farm’s details, including a company registration number where applicable
  • Your bank account name, account number and sort code. This is to allow us to set up your Direct Debit


Please allow up to five working days to complete the switch (ten days for new connections*). Please note, in busy periods this could take up to 4 weeks. 

*For new connections in new premises the network operator, NIE Networks, will provide you with an MPRN (Meter Point Reference Number).

If you have moved into premises that were registered with another supplier by the previous occupant, we can switch you to Power NI quickly and easily.
