Power NI, Sustainability Partner and Platinum Sponsor of the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster (YFCU), attended the annual Floral Art competition at Balmoral Show on Wednesday 15th May.

Representatives of young farmers clubs across Northern Ireland aged 12 to 30 took part in the YFCU Floral Art competition final after participating in a series of heats. With over 700 young farmers taking part in this year’s competition, only three people from each age group made it to the final at Balmoral Show. Competitors were given one hour to create a piece of floral art in line with the 2024 theme, ‘Twigs and twine’. Competitors had to make sure to include a piece of fabric in their arrangement, along with fresh flowers and artificial flowers.

YFCU President, Richard Beatie, announced the winners of each category, whilst Kerrieann Mullen, Power NI’s Marketing Executive, presented the awards to the winners of each category.

Kerrieann said: “This is my second year attending the Floral Art Competition final and I am completely blown away with the talent. Each participant carefully crafted a floral arrangement based on this year’s theme and the attention to detail and creativity shown by all those who entered was truly incredible.”
