Oxford Sunnyside Football Club has received a generous £300 donation from Northern Ireland’s leading electricity supplier, Power NI.
The local club, that calls Knockramer Park in Lurgan home, was nominated by Power NI employee, Terry Mallon, to receive the funding through the company’s Helping Hands initiative. The donation will be used to purchase high quality kits for the players.
The Helping Hands scheme is designed to support local communities, with a focus on grassroots sports, education, and community well-being.
"We are delighted to support Oxford Sunnyside Football Club through Helping Hands," said Ashleigh O’Neill, from Power NI. "Grassroots organisations like Sunny Side play a vital role in bringing people together and promoting healthy lifestyles. We're especially proud to support initiatives championed by employees, like Terry, who are making a difference in their communities."
Commenting on the funding, Power NI employee Terry said, " This donation highlights Power NI’s ongoing commitment to supporting local initiatives that promote inclusivity, well-being, and community engagement.
Oxford Sunnyside is a great community club that caters for every person in the area and this funding will make a real difference to our players. Having proper kits not only boosts team spirit but also gives the team a sense of pride when they step onto the pitch.”
Helping Hands is an employee-led initiative from Power NI that allows staff to nominate an organisation of their choice to receive a donation, that will help improve and continue the excellent work they are doing in their local community. To date, the scheme has provided thousands of pounds to many different organisations across Northern Ireland.
