Power NI, Northern Ireland’s leading energy provider, has donated £1,000 to Tyrone Underwater Search and Recovery as part of its Brighter Communities initiative, helping shine a light on the selfless work of this dedicated volunteer organisation.
The donation recognises the vital role the charity plays in supporting local families during their most difficult times by assisting in the recovery of loved ones and supporting emergency services with specialist underwater search and recovery operations.
Tyrone Underwater Search and Recovery is a small, non-profit group based in the Tyrone area. Since its beginning, the team has been powered by community spirit and local support, helping them to fund training for volunteers and provide the equipment necessary to carry out their deeply compassionate work.
Malachy Foye, Chairperson at Tyrone Underwater Search and Recovery said:
"To us at Tyrone Underwater Search and Recovery, every donation is more than just a gift, it’s a lifeline. It’s the fuel that powers our boats, the light that guides our searches, and the strength behind every recovery effort. The support means we can be there for families in their darkest hours, bringing hope, answers, and closure when it’s needed most.”
Ashleigh O’Neill, the Senior Marketing and Communications Executive at Power NI, said:
"Tyrone Underwater Search and Recovery’s bravery and compassion in the most challenging circumstances is truly inspiring. We are privileged to contribute towards their ongoing work and to help equip these incredible volunteers as they continue to support families and emergency services throughout Tyrone and beyond."
