Power NI, Northern Ireland’s leading electricity supplier with over 37,000 business customers, recently announced a 2-year contract renewal with Leckey Design Ltd

Power NI, Northern Ireland’s leading electricity supplier with over 37,000 business customers, recently announced a 2-year contract renewal with Leckey Design Ltd to supply their Lisburn headquarters with ‘green’ electricity from renewable energy sources. Established by James Leckey in 1983, Leckey Design is a globally recognised pioneer in the research, design and development of clinically focused, postural rehabilitation equipment for children and adults with disabilities. The company operates out of a new state-of-the-art £3million custom built factory on Ballinderry Road which was opened in October of last year by NI Secretary of State, Theresa Villiers, and Enterprise Minister, Arlene Foster. Leckey employs over 112 people at its Lisburn site with a further 18 staff located throughout the UK, Ireland and USA, exporting the majority of its products outside Northern Ireland to more than 140 countries including Japan and Australia.

Power NI has a heritage going back over 80 years and even after a decade of competition remains the largest supplier in Northern Ireland. With recent changes in the electricity market, Power NI can offer larger users like Leckey Design ‘tailor-made’, innovative packages that are even more competitive than before. Ken McCracken, Key Account Manager at Power NI commented: “Topping the agenda for companies is their impact on the environment and the need to cut costs where possible. At Power NI, we can offer tailored contracts to larger businesses, supplying ‘green’ energy produced from renewable sources, which not only helps companies improve their profits but also boost their green credentials.” David Mehaffey,

Operations Director at Leckey Design commented: “Reducing our impact on the environment is very important to our business and we require an energy supplier we know and trust. The ‘green’ energy contract with Power NI means bigger cost savings as well as reducing our carbon footprint, a significant part of our company vision and values. Ken added: “Much like Leckey Design, we too at Power NI have a reputation for excellence, service and value. Over 1,000 businesses switched back to Power NI last year, which we believe is a result of our long standing commitment to our customers, offering products and services that suit their business needs and which more importantly, save them money.” To find out how Power NI can help your business save energy and cut costs, visit www.powerni.co.uk/business or call the Power NI Business Hotline on 08457 455 455 (lines open Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm).
