Power NI – Northern Ireland’s leading energy provider – has donated £300 to County Tyrone’s Drumragh Sarsfields GAC’s ladies’ team through its long-running Helping Hands sponsorship scheme.

John Edgar – an employee at Power NI and team manager of the Senior Ladies’ squad – nominated the Omagh club for funding which has been used to purchase a VEO sports camera that allows for matches to either be streamed live or recorded for the ladies’ team.

“It is fantastic that we can come to our employer to seek help with the development and sustainability of local clubs, offering so much in terms of sport, friendship and learning, particularly for ladies’ teams trying to show young girls an equal future and equal development of themselves in sporting and leadership capacities,” said John.

Situated in Clanabogan, Drumragh Sarsfields GAC celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, the club has continued to develop and improve with its senior ladies’ and Under 16s girls’ teams enjoying impressive victories. Neamh Cleary – the Ladies’ Secretary at Drumragh Sarsfields GAC – added:

“Drumragh Ladies have greatly benefitted from the Power NI Helping Hands grant, and the club cannot overstate our gratitude with this assistance. This grant has provided us with the opportunity to secure camera equipment to further enhance our performance and strive for improvements moving forward.”
