Switch energy supplier to Power NI in four simple steps

It’s easier than you think to make the move!

Making the switch to a new electricity supplier might feel like a faff, but like most things, it’s easy when you know how and switching to Power NI is a cinch. Here’s all you need to know:

Step 1
First thing’s first, find the right option for your situation by answering a few quick questions using our interactive  Comparison Tool and make sure you choose the best payment plan we can offer you. Use our Comparison Tool

Step 2
Have these essentials to hand:

  • Your address, postcode and contact details* Your Meter Point Reference Number (find this on a recent bill from your current supplier – it’s normally on the top right) or Keypad Reference number if you have a Keypad top up meter (this is the 19-digit code usually displayed on your Keypad top-up card)
  • A meter reading
  • Your bank details if you pay by Direct Debit

Step 3
Head to our online switching tool and follow the simple steps to process your switch. It should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. Switch online now

Step 4
Now over to us. We’ll contact your old supplier for you to let them know you’re switching and there will be no interruption to your supply. You’ve got 14 calendar days to change your mind. Once you’re all switched, we’ll send out a welcome back with all the information you need to join us here at Power NI.
