If you have any problems with your Keypad+ please contact us via the email feedback option within the app or get in touch and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

If your not a KeyPad+ customers you can contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

What information can I view on my Keypad+ app?

Accepted Answer

You can view the following information on your Keypad+ app.

Balance

To view your balance, open the Power NI Keypad+ app
Select 'Keypad+' from the main menu
If your smartphone is paired with your Keypad+ your balance should appear on the 'Your balance and usage' screen
To refresh the balance if required, you can tap the word: ‘Balance’

Days Left

To view how many days of electricity you have left, open the Power NI Keypad+ app

Select 'Keypad+' from the main menu
If your smartphone is paired with your Keypad+ your days left should appear on the 'Your balance and usage' screen
To refresh the Days Left if required, you can tap the words: ‘Days Left’

Historic Usage

To view your historic usage, open the Power NI Keypad+ app
Select 'Keypad+' from the main menu
On the 'Your balance and usage' screen click on the 'Usage' button
On the 'Your Usage' screen you will be able to view how much electricity (£) you used yesterday, the previous week and the previous month by clicking on the 'Recent Usage' button
To view how much electricity (£) you have used in the last year (month by month) click on the 'Historic Usage' button and a graph will appear on-screen to display this information

Current Consumption

To view your current usage, open the Power NI Keypad+ app
Select 'Keypad+' from the main menu
On the 'Your balance and usage' screen click on the 'Usage' button
On the 'Your usage' screen, click on the 'Current Consumption' button and you will find out how much electricity (kW) you are using at that moment in time and how much you are spending on electricity (£) at that moment in time.

What do I do if I can't open the Keypad+ app?

If you are unable to open the Keypad+ app, please get in touch with us at keypadplus@powerni.co.uk. In the meantime if you need to top up, please use the existing Power NI app and key the powercode in to your Keypad+ unit manually.

Question 4

I am having problems connecting Keypad+ with my smartphone. What should I do?

iOS – Please note for some iOS versions, you will need to allow Keypad+ app access to Bluetooth. If this was not allowed when downloading the app please go to settings, select Keypad+ and enable this function here.

Android – Please note you need to enable location service on your smartphone.

If you are experiencing issues connecting the Keypad+ unit with your smartphone, then follow the steps below:

Ensure Bluetooth on your phone is turned on, and you have paired your phone with the Keypad+ unit.
Open the app and select 'Keypad+' from the main menu.
Click on the power icon in the top right-hand corner. If your Keypad+ serial number is not displayed click scan now. If your serial number is not displayed on your second attempt, move closer to the Keypad+ unit as you may be out of range.
Once your Keypad+ serial number is displayed the app will connect automatically. If this does not happen just tap the serial number, the bar should turn green and take you to the balance and usage screen.
If the app has still not connected, please reset the Bluetooth connection by following the steps below for your freedom unit

For Keypad+ units with the serial number starting B please enter: Star, 159268, Hash (*159268#). The Freedom unit should say ‘Wait’ for approx. 30 seconds followed by ‘Bluetooth Off / Han Off’. Please re-enter the code *159268#, the unit should display ‘Wait’ followed by ‘Bluetooth On / Han On’. You should now be able to connect.

For Keypad+ units with the serial number starting PNI, please enter Star, Zero, Hash (*0#). The freedom unit should say ‘Wait’ followed by ‘Bluetooth Off’. Please re-enter the code *0#, the unit should display ‘Wait’ followed by ‘Bluetooth On’. You should now be able to connect.

Question 5

I've topped up but the powercode has not been sent to my meter. What should I do?

If you have topped up your meter and the power code has not been sent automatically to your meter via Bluetooth and you do not have the code, please contact us.

If you need a power code reissued outside of our opening hours, please contact NIE Networks by ringing 03457 643 643 or contact them online.

The powercode can be entered manually into the Keypad Meter by: Press Star – Enter Code – Press Hash (*CODE#)

For future top up’s please follow the steps below to ensure the app and Keypad+ unit are connected prior to topping up:

Ensure Bluetooth on your phone is turned on, and you have paired your smartphone with the Keypad+
Open the app and select 'Keypad+' from the main menu
Click on the power icon in the top right-hand corner
If your Keypad+ serial number is not shown, hit scan now. If your Keypad+ serial number is still not displayed, please move closer to the Keypad+ as it may be out of range.
Once your serial number is displayed the app will connect automatically, if this does not happen just tap the serial number, the bar should turn green and take you to the balance and usage screen.
If the app is still not connected, close and reopen the app. If this fails, please check the new Keypad+ unit is connected and is displaying information by pressing any button.
When processing the top up please select email receipt, so a copy of the code is sent to you via email should you need to key the code into your Keypad Meter.

If the app is not connected to the Keypad+ unit, the power code can be entered manually: Press Star – Enter Code – Press Hash (*CODE#)
