Power NI Gives Willow Tree Lodge a Welcomed Helping Hand

Wood Green healthcare have received a £300 community grant from Power NI, Northern Ireland’s leading energy supplier.

Newtownabbey based nursing home, Wood Green Care Home, was nominated to receive the community funding by Power NI employee, Pat McGowan, as part of the company’s staff sponsorship scheme ‘Helping Hands’, which gives staff the opportunity to put forward local groups and organisations for funding. Thanks to the donation, the nursing home was able to purchase a water feature for their new garden.

Wood Green Care Home is a care centre that offers person-centred care delivered by a committed and highly skilled team of carers. The home provides care for people with residential and nursing needs living with dementia.

The team at Wood Green appreciate that it is often difficult for anyone to make the choice to go into care and for families to have to choose a care home for their loved ones, so they promote their ethos as one that respects individuality and supports residents to flourish in what are very homely surroundings.

Power NI is delighted to support Willow tree Lodge, an extension of Wood Green Care Home, by providing funding to purchase a water feature for their new sensory garden. The funding from Power NI will give the garden a welcomed lift and allow the residents, ranging from 16 to 60 years old, who suffer from brain and spinal injuries to enjoy a relaxing and sensory experience in the comfort of their care home garden.
