Important Power NI Residential Customer Update

Power NI Residential tariffs and meter reading

Power NI would like to take this opportunity to reassure residential customers that there will be no increase in prices on the 1 October 2022 and there is no need to contact us to submit a meter reading, as the recent Ofgem announcement applies only to England, Scotland, and Wales.

Northern Ireland has its own form of price regulation controlled by the Northern Ireland Utility Regulator and Power NI is the only price-controlled electricity supplier in Northern Ireland, providing customers with an additional level of safeguarding in that tariffs are adjusted through a regulatory formula with all costs approved by the Utility Regulator.

Power NI residential customers are billed quarterly and NIE Networks are responsible for reading your meter in accordance with this. For those customers registered for Energy Online, you will be issued a meter reading reminder every quarter via email.

Government Bill Support

Power NI has been engaging with BEIS (Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy) and is working to implement financial support schemes for our customers (Domestic & Commercial). There is no need to contact our Customer Helpline as we will be communicating further information to customers when it becomes available.
