Newcastle Yacht Club complete step one of Quest

Newcastle Yacht Club are now one step closer to the Quest final after completing step one of the ten step energy saving competition. If they are the first group to get to the tenth step they will be awarded with £10,000 to invest in renewable technology for their community

The first step was a community meeting were their group mentor Wilma Stewart provided a presentation on the background to Power NI, the benefits of energy saving and more details on what to expect throughout the rest of the Quest competition.   They are currently working on step number two which is completing 100 online Home Energy Checks.

Newcastle Yacht Club group member Leslie Mackie said; ‘’we were delighted to be chosen as one of the six finalists for Quest and are excited for the steps ahead. The presentation gave us great tips on energy saving and was a great way to start the competition.’’

Wilma Stewart, Group mentor added; ‘’there was a great turn out at the first meeting which just showed me how eager and dedicated Newcastle Yacht Club are to win this competition.  They are definitely up for the challenge and I think they will go far no matter what the outcome.’’  

 Newcastle Yacht Club now have 100 Home Energy Checks to complete before they can move on to step number three.
