Power NI is delighted to announce that this year's company nominated charity will be Marie Curie Northern Ireland

Each year Power NI staff volunteers come together to form a charity committee to organise fundraising events and initiatives - from talent contests and bake sales to car washes and quizzes – all efforts possible to help raise vital monies in support of our charity partner.

This year will see the continuing hard work from the charity committee to aid Marie Curie and the work they do here in Northern Ireland.

An innovative way Power NI are hoping to kick start fundraising activities with the launch of a new advertising campaign today, Friday 18th September. As part of this campaign a TV ad will be airing across Northern Ireland featuring the soundtrack ‘Shining Light’ originally by Northern Ireland band Ash and re-recorded by Triona Carville.

Already proving to be a big hit with local radio stations Cool Fm and U105, the soundtrack will be available for download from iTunes, Google Play, Amazon and most importantly for every download Power NI will donate 30p to Marie Curie. (first 10,000 track downloads) Find out more

Marie Curie Nurses provide end of life care to local people in communities across N.I some of which may well be where Power NI employees and customers live and work, so this is truly a local charity close to our hearts. Offering care and support through terminal illness Marie Curie are an integral support not just for people with a terminal illness but their families too.

Sadly every fifteen minutes someone dies without the end of life care they need and that is why Marie Curie urgently need support to provide more care to more people. In Northern Ireland Marie Curie has 140 nurses providing end of life care and a hospice facility in Belfast which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
