Power NI has given its backing to the Academy at Lisburn Youth Football Club, by providing funding for the team to buy new footballs and other sports equipment. The money came from Power NI’s staff sponsorship scheme ‘Helping Hands’ which gives its employees the opportunity to nominate organisations to receive the funding.
Power NI employee, Nikki Rollins, who nominated the Academy to receive the funding said; “I am delighted that my son’s football team has been able to benefit from the helping hands scheme. The football club is ran by a group of volunteers who invest a lot of their own free time to help the kids develop their football skills and take part in mini matches. They rely on dues, sponsorship and fundraising in order to run this club, so I know this contribution was greatly appreciated “.
Neil Caswell, Head Coach added; “I would like to thank Power NI for the kind donation to aid our club. As a junior football club, it is donations such as this one that enables the club to survive and continue offering kids the opportunity to take part in football and also make new friendships in the process. The funds were used to help pay for new footballs for this season for our clubs youngest Academy team made up of kids born in 2010 and 2011 who are only beginning their footballing journey. Once again many thanks to Power NI for their help”.
