Eight staff members from Power NI took to heights of 10,000ft and at speeds of up to 120mph to raise £5,332 for their charity partner Action Mental Health.

Power NI is Northern Ireland's leading energy supplier and throughout the month of April, their brave employees have being doing a sponsored tandem dive at Skydive Wild Geese in Garvagh, Coleraine.

Each year, Power NI staff selects a registered charity to support with a range of company-wide fundraising initiatives, allowing their staff to give back to the local community. This year they chose to support local NI charity, Action Mental Health.

Taylor Maye, Power NI employee commented, “Jumping from 10,000ft isn’t a big ask especially because we know that the money we’re raising will go directly into our local communities to help those living with mental ill health".

To date, Power NI have raised £10,439 this year for the charity through various activities, some of which include; abseils, zip lines, a 55-mile cycle and celebrations of World Mental Health Day.

Founded in 1963, Action Mental Health (AMH) is a local charity which works to enhance the quality of life and the employability of people with mental health needs or a learning disability in Northern Ireland. Action Mental Health changes the lives of those living with mental ill health and promotes resilience and well-being to future generations. Staff at Power NI pledged to support the charity in a number of ways during the year, and are driven and motivated to make as much money as possible for a very worthy cause.

Callum Clark, Events and Fundraising Officer at Action Mental Health said; “We are extremely grateful to Power NI for their support throughout our partnership. We at Action Mental Health have been absolutely blown away by their commitment as a recognisable brand to raise much needed funds and awareness, tackle stigma and promote positive mental health. I would like to thank Power NI employees and customers for their support of Action Mental Health. It is thanks to their fundraising efforts that we are able to sustain and grow as a charity”.
