1. BELFAST CITY HALL

Saturday 17th November, 6.30 – 7.30pm

Lights Switch On and Christmas Market

Welcome one and all to Belfast’s City Hall!

Considered to be one of the best spots for atmosphere and entertainment, this ticketed event will be hosted by Paw Patrol’s Skye and Marshall, Fireman Sam and Norman Price, and TV Presenter Andy Day.

For added sparkle, the Christmas Market will be open from 12 noon.

2. CS LEWIS SQUARE, BELFAST

Thursday 22nd – Sunday 25th November

Christmas Fayre & Lights Switch On

Lights, camaraderie, action!

A whole weekend of activities is in place to celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of CS Lewis Square opening. With the ‘Lights Switch On’ on Thursday, a roller disco, Narnia-themed Banquet, Brian Houston Concert and more.

Saturday 17th November, 12-7pm

Bangor Christmas Lights Switch On

Bangor is banging this Saturday.

With a Christmas Market, Rock around the Roller Disco, Elf Trail, Santa Letter Writing, Gingerbread Making, a Lantern Parade before the big Lights Switch On at McKee Clock and a Fireworks Display over the Marina.

If all that doesn’t get you into the spirit, nothing will.

4. COOKSTOWN

Friday 23rd November, 6.30-8pm

Cookstown Christmas Lights Switch On

Take to the Town Centre for fun with all the trimmings!

The Tullylagan Pipe Band will provide the seasonal soundtrack to the great Christmas Lights Countdown, with a Mary Poppins parade and Santa himself doing the Switching On honours.

It’s a magical evening for all.

Thursday 22nd November

Derry/Londonderry Christmas Lights Switch On

Larne Town Centre Lights Switch On

It’s time to light up Larne!

Join in the wonderful wintry procession as local schools and groups lead the way with Santa and the Mayor of Mid & East Antrim to Broadway Plaza to switch on the Christmas lights.

It’s an illuminating experience to behold.

Saturday 24th November, 5.30pm

Christmas Lights Switch On

Make your way to Main Street.

With Carol Singing from local schools, street entertainment and an appearance from Santa, this early evening event is sure to get everyone, young and young at heart, into the Christmas Spirit.

8. NEWTOWNARDS

Friday 23rd November, 5.30-7.30pm

Newtownards Christmas Tree Switch On

Join Cool FM’s Pete Snodden at Conway Square.

Kids can enjoy face painting and balloon modeling before Santa and Sleigh lead a lantern parade with illuminated ballet dancers, an aerial performer followed by the official Christmas Lights Switch On.

It’s a carnival of colour and rhythm.

Antrim Switch On & Christmas Market

Antrim is going all out this year!

Stuart Robinson will rouse the crowd in Market Square with Santa switching on the lights at 7.20pm. Be sure to book your little one into a Teddy Bear Workshop (£), enjoy the Twilight Market and Bonkers Betty’s Bizarre’s crafts.

Thursday 29th November

Ballycastle Christmas Lights Switch On

Santa Claus is coming to town!

On horse-drawn carriage no less, and accompanied by the town’s Mayor to bring Christmas to Ballycastle. Local schools will provide songs and seasonal characters will meet and greet.

With lots of fun, and some free selection boxes to boot!

Dungannon Christmas Lights Switch On

Gather round The Square!

Meet the Ice King and Snow Queen, see spinning Elves, hear local band The Bellas, seek out superheroes and see the biggest one of all: Santa!  After the big switch on, visit the Magical Christmas Kingdom at the Hill of O’Neill.

Christmas in Fermanagh & Omagh

The magic of Christmas past is the theme here.

The Snow Sisters sing Christmas movie tunes, follow the Elf Trail, visit Santa at the Strule Arts Centre, see old-fashioned toys and games, post a letter to the North Pole, make decorations, hear carols, and even watch a family movie together.

As darkness approaches, it’s the big Lights Switch on at 5.30pm

15. HOLYWOOD

Saturday 24th November

Holywood Christmas Switch On

And now for something a little different!

Children can climb inside a giant inflatable snowman! Enter the kids’ fancy dress competition with the lucky winner helping Santa to switch on the lights at 4.30pm. Visit the Christmas market in Hibernia Street from 12-6pm, enjoy a carol service and see the illuminated ballet dancers.

A sure fire way to enter the spirit of the season.

Saturday 24th November, 1-6pm

Ballyclare Switch On & Christmas Market

Talk about a Teddy Bear’s Christmas!

Ballyclare Town Hall is the place to be for special seasonal Teddy Bear Workshops, and a cool colouring competition where the winner and their Teddy will help the Mayor switch on the Christmas Lights!

With a festive craft market and fun for all, it’s ‘bear-fect’.

17. CARRICKFERGUS

Saturday 17th November, 2-6pm

Festive Christmas Lights Switch On

Kick Christmas off in Carrick!

There’ll be music and dance, a whole host of Christmas characters, a Civic Carol Service will provide entertainment to all in the very apt St. Nicholas Church at 4pm with an electrifying fireworks display at Fisherman’s Quay.

18. NEWRY

Saturday 17th November, 2-6pm

Carrick Christmas Switch On

Newry will be a hub of activity in the Event Space at Marcus Square, Hill Street from 5pm. A Santa Fun Run will take place at 5.30pm, hosted by Southern Area Hospice Services, and the winner will be announced just in time for Santa’s arrival. 

Santa and his reindeer will arrive just in time to switch the lights on at 7pm followed by a pyrotechnic display!

Santa and his reindeer are on their way to Strabane for the annual Christmas Lights Switch-On!

20. PORTADOWN

Friday 16th November, 6pm – 10pm

Portadown Twilight Market and Christmas Light Switch On

Start your magical Christmas story in style and watch Portadown shine bright at the annual ‘tree-mendous’ Christmas lights switch on and twilight market!

Taking place on Friday 16th November, the merriment starts from 6.00pm on the town centre plaza with a magical line-up of fabulous entertainment, song and dance to welcome the yuletide season to town!

21. COLERAINE

Friday 23rd November, 6pm – 9pm

The fun begins in The Diamond area at 6pm with Beatz Entertainment, school choir carol singing and the Riverside Panto Group.

The Christmas Parade including the Mayor, Santa and his Clydesdale horses will make its way through the town from the Leisure Centre before the switch-on at 7pm followed by live entertainment from local band The Dandy Lyons.
